adorable . . .
lovin' life . . . even with a ruptured eardrum just before her Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy
(FYI: the medical acronym for this is T & A. tee hee!)
after the "silly" medication... she was hysterical
the story. . .
One afternoon last week, Morgan randomly started crying/moaning and complaining that her ear hurt. We got her in to see the doctor who found that her left ear was severely infected and recommended that we see an ENT. We spent the remainder of the day trying to keep her calm and comfortable. The next morning she woke up as happy as ever...her complaint now was that there were boogers in her ear!!! WHAT?!?! Apparently, her eardrum had ruptured, complete with drainage...we took her immediately to the ENT. First he looked in her mouth and said, "Wow. Those are huge!". Then patiently following Morgan's commands to "be careful," he saw a small hole in the left eardrum. The huge adenoids were most likely keeping the tubes from draining causing fluid to build up pressure and ultimately rupturing the eardrum.
So out they came yesterday...
Michael and I enjoyed her performance prior to the operation. She is definitely a "light-weight" when it comes to drugs...not unlike myself. The operation went very well but she was quite upset when she awoke. She broke my heart as she mumbled for mama to make it feel better. She is currently located on the floor of our living room on a twin-size mattress directly in front of the TV/DVD player. Recovery is pretty rough, but she's been brave. ...poor baby...
